1.Product Description
TRUEMET Bolt and Nut Tensile Test Fixtures are precision-machined, hardened tooling sets for tensile testing of threaded fasteners on a Universal Testing Machine (UTM). They are designed in line with the mechanical test requirements of ISO 898-1 (bolts, screws and studs) and ISO 898-2 (nuts), and cover sizes M10 to M30. They are suitable for testing fasteners up to property class 12.9.
2.Applications
1. Bolt, screw and stud testing (ISO 898-1)
• Full-size tensile strength of finished bolts and studs, to verify the ultimate tensile load for the stated property class
• Proof load testing to confirm the fastener carries the specified load without permanent set
• Wedge tensile testing, which checks head-to-shank strength and the fastener’s tolerance of angular misalignment under load
2. Nut testing (ISO 898-2)
• Proof load testing of nuts using hardened test mandrels
• Verification of thread-stripping resistance and nut strength for the stated property class
3. Where it is used
• Incoming material inspection at fastener buyers and OEMs
• Batch and lot testing in fastener manufacturing plants
• Heat-treatment verification, since the fixtures can confirm whether quenching and tempering has delivered the intended property class
• Third-party and NABL-accredited testing laboratories
• Failure analysis of fasteners that have broken in service
4. Key Features
• One complete Set covering M10 to M30 for tensile, wedge, and proof load testing
• Suitable for fasteners up to class 12.9, so fixtures withstand the high loads of high-strength fasteners
• Hardened and precision-ground components for dimensional accuracy, repeatability and long service life
• Correct axial alignment, which reduces bending and gives reliable results
• Compatible with standard UTMs
• Clear size marking on each component for easy selection
